At May 14th 1959, this enormous anchor was fished up forty miles northwest of IJmuiden. The crew of the UK 11 (captain H. Brands Rzn.) was assisted by the crew of the UK 66. Formerly, the big ring of the anchor was wrapped with thick rope. At the cross are the numbers 1512 inscribed. If this is a year number no one can say for sure. A registration number is very improbable. The type looks like 17-age and older examples. Anchors with the same sizes came from round 1500, at that time there were big three or four mast ships.
